jQuery is the JavaScript framework of choice for this platform, due to its extremely small footprint (only ~16Kb). Update Easter 2016: Note that was written back in 2009, meanwhile the library has evolved considerably. Also alternatives such as zepto.js have emerged, with footprint less than 10kB.
